Developer Diary 2021: week 35

06/09/2021 developerDiary

One of those "I am not sure where the week has gone" kind of weeks.

What's been happening?

A relaxed bank holiday Monday and a few days away from my home office (in to the real office) made my week go really fast.

A family birthday at the weekend and a chance to see some family I hadn't seen an a while was lovely.

To be honest, the rest of the week was a digital one: TV, coding and listening to shows...

Reading 📚

This week I switched to audiobook rather than reading.

Listening 🎧

Aswell as my usual podcast routine, I have been listening to Bad Blood on audiobook. The return of "The Dropout" podcast and the trial going to court reminded me I had purchased it but never listened! Would recommend if you are interested in this story.

Learning 👩‍💻

I have been learning more about .Net 6 & C# 10 features: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/dotnet/new-dotnet-6-apis-driven-by-the-developer-community/ .I wrote a blog post about file scoped namespaces in C#10.

Some other cool things I have been learning about:

Watching 📺

Untold: Deal with the Devil - a documentary about boxer Christy Martin

The Last Leg -  as with every Paralympics, I love catching up with the latest competition each night with The Last Leg. I will miss there being daily sport on TV.

Nine Perfect Strangers - I have binge watched the first 5 episodes, now I need to wait for one each week?! I think I will save them to watch all at once.

Bernardine Evaristo: Never Give Up - BBC documentary about the Booker Prize winning author, her life and career.
